Volunteer of the Month - Caiden Kozlin

Caiden has become an outstanding volunteer and a valued member of the Hobe Sound Nature Center family. His confidence, enthusiasm, and knowledge of Florida's wildlife have grown tremendously, and visitors enjoy learning from him during our weekly Bubbles & Bites program. Whether he's helping care for our ambassador animals, assisting guests in the museum, or sharing his passion for conservation, Caiden always brings a positive attitude and a willingness to help.

Outside of the Nature Center, Caiden enjoys learning about wildlife, meeting new people, and caring for his pets, including his two chinchillas, Burt and Butters. He hopes to one day pursue a career helping animals, and we look forward to watching him continue to grow as a naturalist, educator, and conservationist.

  1. How long have you been volunteering at the Nature Center?

I've been volunteering for about 8 months.

  2. What inspired you to become a volunteer at the Nature Center?

I was inspired to join the Hobe Sound Nature Center because I wanted to raise awareness for Florida's wildlife and why we should preserve it.

  3. What's one of your favorite memories from volunteering?

One of my favorite memories of the Nature Center is meeting the staff and fellow volunteers because they are like a second family to me.

  4. If you could spend a day as one of our ambassador animals, which one would you choose, and why?

I'd choose Willow, our Eastern Screech Owl, because I like to sleep and I'd love to know what it's feels like to turn my head almost all the way around!
