Engaging the Community through Outreach

The Hobe Sound Nature Center was grateful to support the local community through our participation in the the Natural Areas Festival and Waterways Day in late January. 

Hosted at Winding Waters Natural Area, the Natural Areas Festival was a family-friendly event that brought guests together to celebrate, explore and experience the different ways to spend time outdoors within Palm Beach County's Natural Areas System. Our team was in attendance alongside our alligator ambassadors to teach  guests about local native wildlife and how they can help protect them.

Waterways Day, which took place at the Florida Oceanographic Society, upheld its mission to celebrate and raise awareness regarding coastal conservation. Programming featured various conservation organizations, live animal encounters, and activities. The Hobe Sound Nature Center team attended with our alligator and Florida kingsnake ambassadors to teach guests about local native wildlife and how they can help protect them.
