1. How long have you been volunteering with us?
I’ve been volunteering since August of 2025
2. What inspired you to join the HSNC team?
During my many years as a teacher, I had the opportunity to visit Hobe Sound Nature Center with my students and see first hand the amazing programs offered to our community. I wanted to be part of a team dedicated to educating locals and visitors about protecting our beautiful coastal environments.
3. What is your favorite part of volunteering with us?
There are so many special moments that happen at the Nature Center. I am honored to learn from the amazing team of professionals who work hard to make the Nature Center so unique. Additionally, caring for the animals is a precious time of the day. There’s a calming presence in showing love and respect for their individual needs. I also love interacting with families who come to learn and share the commitment of protecting nature with their children.
4. Do you have a favorite animal or memory from your time here?
I adore all our creatures, but my favorite is Triton, our King Snake. His little face makes me smile. And I love when kids say that their visit to the Nature Center was “the best day ever.”
