TRAINING THE NEXT GENERATION OF SCIENTISTS
Last week, we teamed up with an incredible group of high school students and teachers from the Pine School to dive into the world of field biology… literally! From wading and seine-netting in the Indian River Lagoon to measuring water chemistry and conducting a full biological inventory, these students rolled up their sleeves and stepped into the role of real scientists.
Watching their excitement as they discovered tiny fish, invertebrates, and the hidden stories of the Indian River Lagoon reminds us why hands-on learning is so powerful. These young conservationists are gaining the skills and passion to protect Florida’s wild places for generations to come.
